Jim White has been given a glowing recommendation about new Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart by a top source at Ibrox.
The Gers confirmed on 25 November that the former interim chief executive officer of Manchester United will join the staff at Ibrox on 16 December.
Stewart takes over from James Bisgrove, who left his position at the Bears earlier this year, and taking to X, White shared what he’s been told about the new chief.
“On new Rangers CEO Patrick Stewart, a top club source tells me: ‘He has tremendous breadth of experience at a PL club. He is a strong character, Scottish and a really exciting appointment’.”
Rangers make right move with Patrick Stewart
Rangers have felt leaderless ever since Bisgrove and John Bennett’s departures, and the results on the pitch haven’t been encouraging either.
Stewart brings with him vast experience working at one of the biggest clubs in the world Manchester United, having spent 14 years at Old Trafford.
The CEO has big decisions to make at Ibrox now, none more seemingly crucial than the future of Philippe Clement at the Glaswegian outfit.
Celtic are currently 11 points ahead of the Light Blues in the Scottish Premiership after the Bears dropped points against Dundee United on 23 November in a 1-1 draw.
The Belgian manager’s sacking could soon be inevitable, but it remains to be seen whether Stewart will have the same assessment that most of the Ibrox faithful have of the head coach if he’s still in charge in mid-December.
Malcolm Offord is also expected to be named the new chairman at the Bears [The Sun], and it will be interesting to see how the new arrivals navigate the stormy waters at the Glaswegian club.
Exciting times are ahead for Rangers, and hopefully, Stewart will be able to steer the ship in the right direction once he arrives.
