Armando Broja is in the final stage of his recovery and will make the step up to first-team action in November, according to Klaudio Ndreca.

The Albanian journalist posted on X (1 October) to report that Broja’s return from a pre-existing injury upon signing for the Toffees is imminent, with his debut set to come in a little over a month.

Broja arrived at Goodison Park on 31 August on a season-long loan with an option to buy from Chelsea, and will not join up with the Albania national team this October to prevent risking a further injury setback.

Ndreca said: “Broja is in the last stage of recovery.

“He is not on the October list because Everton could not risk him for another injury with the national team, at a time when they have been waiting so long for him.

“Gradual activation will begin after our matches, in November”.

Albania have two more games in November, suggesting the visit of Brentford on 23 November could be the date Broja finally steps out for Everton.

If and when Broja does finally make his debut for the Blues, the Goodison faithful will be expectant that the striker can bring a marked improvement to Sean Dyche’s relegation-threatened side.

With Beto and first-choice number nine Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of him in the pecking order, Broja must provide both a differing outlet and a consistent source of goals if he’s to play regularly.

Calvert-Lewin and Beto have three goals between them already this season, but with the likes of Dwight McNeil and Iliman Ndiaye being the Blues’ real stand-outs so far, the door could be opened for Broja.

Concerns over Calvert-Lewin’s long-term future on Merseyside will continue if he hasn’t agreed a new contract before the January transfer window – by which time Broja could be Dyche’s first-choice striker.

There is plenty of work for the Albanian international to do between then and now, though, and Broja has to show immediate signs that his potential £30million price tag can be justified.
