Dan Bardell has praised Everton for re-signing winger Jack Harrison on loan this summer but believes they will need more additions to improve.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Friday (21 Juen) that the deal is “done” for Harrison to return on loan to Goodison Park with the Blues currently exchanging documents with Leeds United. Romano also added his “here we go” catchphrase to signify it’s all but done.

Everton managed to sign the ex-Manchester City winger on loan last summer due to a clause in his contract that allowed him to leave Elland Road temporarily after relegation. That clause is reportedly still valid as Leeds failed to come back up last season.

Harrison could become their first signing of the summer with a deal for Tim Iroegbunam also nearing completion.

Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Bardell believes getting Harrison back is positive but they will need more signings this summer.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “Even to stand still in the Premier League nowadays is really hard so Everton need everyone they had last season and more just to stand still.

With the unique nature of Harrison’s contract at Leeds means he can go on loan again. He had a good spell with Everton last year so I think getting him back is the bare minimum that they need this summer.

He’s a very busy player and as a wide man under Sean Dyche he suits what he wants completely. Getting him in is certainly a good start to the window but they’ll need more.

Everton close to resigning Jack Harrison

With the financial issues that have plagued the Toffees over the years, loans and free signings are needed to deal with PSR concerns.

Farhad Moshiri has done his utmost to sell the club over the years with no deal coming up that had moved forward.

Now with Dan Friedkin moving closer to taking over as owner at Goodison Park, maybe transfers are going to become possible.

A deal for Harrison will come cheap and given his impact on the squad last season, it is a positive deal and a no-brainer for Sean Dyche.

With Dwight McNeil on one side and the Leeds loanee on the other, the Toffees have a great balance to their team.

Jack Harrison is unlikely to stay with Everton next season

There is no doubt that more signings will be needed this summer if relegation is going to be avoided with ease once again.

With the transfer window only days old, signing Harrison is a positive start to the summer with a view to further additions.

In other Everton news, a BBC journalist has shared whether Arsenal intend to pursue with their interest in Amadou Onana.
