Keith Jackson has been calling Hamza Igamane “Moroccan mince” as he feels the forward isn’t ready yet to take on responsibilities at Rangers.

Olympiacos welcomed the Gers to the Karaiskakis Stadium on 7 November in the Europa League, and Igamane replaced goalscorer Cyriel Dessers as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The Moroccan struggled to make much of a difference towards the end of the game, and speaking on the Daily Record’s Hotline Live [7 November], Jackson didn’t hold back when talking about the 22-year-old.

“They’ve got Igamane, who isn’t anywhere near ready. I keep calling him a pound of Moroccan mince, he’s that raw. So he comes on. Is he ready to affect the game? Not really, no.”

Hamza Igamane needs time at Rangers

Igamane signed for the Light Blues this summer from AS FAR in Morocco, and it’s clear that the club had a long-term view in mind when bringing him to Ibrox.

The striker is still young and still has several years ahead of him to develop into a decent number nine.

But with Dessers putting in some frustrating performances and the injury to Danilo, the 22-year-old has been thrown into the fire on occasions and hasn’t been able to cope with it.

Against Olympiacos, Philippe Clement decided to trust the Nigerian forward as he has done for most of the season, but despite the 29-year-old’s brilliant goal, there were other opportunities that he should’ve slotted in the back of the net.

Igamane has made 10 appearances so far in the current campaign but has only managed to score one goal, which came against FCSB in the Europa League.

Clement hasn’t really given the Moroccan a consistent run in the team, and judging by his performances, the youngster needs to develop some key areas in his game to get recognition.

In other Rangers news, the club announced a change behind the scenes in Companies House documents.
