King View: Friedkin could target CL-winning boss at Everton to replace Dyche

Bryan King believes Dan Friedkin could target Thomas Tuchel for the managerial role at Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout feels that the Toffees’ prospective new owner might want to make a change in the dugout.

Everton have been busy in recent weeks, recently confirming the signings of Tim Iroegbunam and Jack Harrison while handing out various contract extensions.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – is curious as to what this means for Sean Dyche’s future.

“Is Dyche going to remain as the manager?” King asked.

“Is the new owner going to want to bring in his own man? Who is signing these players for the club and giving the go-ahead for new contracts?

“I hope it is Dyche, but there does seem to be some uncertainty. If the new owner has any sense he will leave things in place at first and see how things go for six months.

“However, he might also be tempted to make a change. Someone like Tuchel, perhaps he would fit into the class of manager Friedkin would like.”

Could Everton appoint a big-name manager such as Thomas Tuchel?

On paper Dyche does not deserve to lose his job.

The 53-year-old kept Everton in the Premier League last season under very tricky circumstances and deserves to have at least another season in charge.

However, with everything that is changing at the club, that might not happen.

Should the Freidkin Group complete a takeover, they might want to make a statement appointment to kick off their reign.

Bringing a big-name manager such as Tuchel, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2021, to the club could help them do just that.

While at first it might sound ridiculous, it is worth remembering that it wasn’t too long ago current Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was in the dugout at Goodison Park.

Therefore, Friedkin could look to pull off a similar feat and appoint someone such as Tuchel to inject some positivity into Everton, as good a job as Dyche has done.

In other Everton news, delight has emerged as contract terms were officially agreed at Goodison Park.
