Saturday night’s La Liga action ended with two tight clashes as Getafe held Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad edged out Espanyol.
Osasuna produced an early victory, either side of Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Athletic Club, on a gritty night of matches.
Osasuna 1-0 Mallorca
Osasuna got the ball rolling with a narrow home win over Mallorca in their first victory of the campaign so far.
The hosts carved out the better first half chances, denied by the post, and some superb goal keeping from the opposition.
However, the key moment arrived just after the restart, as Ruben Garcia reacted first inside the box to tap home from close range, with Mallorca now winless from their first two games.

Espanyol 0-0 Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad headed to Catalonia looking to bounce back from a opening weekend defeat at home to Rayo.
However, they were unable to break down a resolute home back line early on, with the hosts creating more on the break than La Real.
The away side looked to step up a gear in the closing stages, as Espanyol dug in, and Japanese star Takefusa Kubo produced a moment of magic to smash home a winner late on.

Real Sociedad still need to improve their lacklustre start to the season, as they prepare for UEFA Europa League action from the start of September, with key midfielder Mikel Merino on the verge of joining Arsenal.
Getafe 0-0 Rayo Vallecano
No one expected a thrilling Madrid derby as Rayo Vallecano made the short trip south to face Getafe.
Three of the last six league meetings between these two teams have ended in 0-0 draws and that followed suit at the Estadio Coliseum.

Neither side managed an attempt on target in the contest and a dour stalemate was a deserved result as the spoils were shared again.
