Leeds should be going all out to replace Crysencio Summerville with 'special' £20m EFL star - opinion
He'd be perfect for Leeds...????
Leeds United should focus all their efforts on signing a really talented EFL star to replace Crysencio Summerville.
The news Leeds fans have been dreading since the playoff final loss to Southampton has finally materialised.
Crysencio Summerville is set to join West Ham United for a fee in excess of £25m and evidently, he’ll leave a massive void.
To fill that, Leeds should place all of their focus on the signing of a £20m EFL star.
Leeds should try to sign Jonathan Rowe
Summerville was last season’s Championship Player of the Season and many felt if Leeds kept hold of him, he’d be the ticket to the Premier League this term.
So with that said, The Whites have the near-impossible task of finding an adequate replacement who’s capable of netting in excess of 10 goals from out wide.
That said, Norwich City’s exciting young winger Jonathan Rowe would be an exciting successor to the West Ham-bound Dutchman.
Rowe, who turned 21 in April, fired home 13 goals whilst laying on four assists last season and was perhaps the only second to Summerville as the biggest breakout star.
The England youth international can operate off both flanks, too, so he’d be able to fit seamlessly on the right if Wilfried Gnonto returns to his favoured left-hand side.
Jonathan Rowe price tag
Rowe is believed to have a £20m price tag, though, that’s certainly not a realistic asking price from The Canaries.
A fee of around £10m could be enough to secure his services as his contract is due to expire in a year’s time – meaning he can walk for free next summer.
Leeds really should consider making an offer for Rowe as he’d be perfect for Daniel Farke.
