Leny Yoro sends message to Man United fans after big development

Man United defender Leny Yoro has taken to social media to re-post a video of his return to first-team training.

The 18-year-old has been sidelined since pre-season, picking up an ankle injury in their 2-1 friendly defeat to Arsenal.

As a result, the young centre-back is yet to make a competitive appearance for the club since they beat Real Madrid to his £52million signature in the summer transfer window.

A lot has happened at Old Trafford since then; Erik ten Hag has lost his job after guiding the 20-time champions to their worst-ever start to a Premier League season, and highly regarded young coach Ruben Amorim is set to replace him.

Amorim, who has a reputation for bedding in young players, could be set to give Yoro his full debut in their upcoming game against Ipswich Town after the international break.

Leny Yoro set to make Man United comeback

Yoro burst onto the scene at Lille last season, making 44 appearances across all competitions for the French side.

Although brief, he showed glimpses of what he was capable of in pre-season, playing 45 minutes against Rangers and ending with a 100 per cent tackle success rate.

Clearly excited about making his return, Yoro took to Instagram to share a video posted by the club’s official account.

It’s unlikely interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy will want to rush Yoro back as they prepare to face Greek side PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday (November 7).

After that they take on a struggling Leicester side in the Premier League on Sunday (November 10) as United seek to finally get their season going.
