Lilywhite Rose: 'Exciting' Tottenham starlet has signed long-term deal in North London

John Wenham claims Tottenham Under-21s starlet Leo Black signed a long-term contract with the club this year.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has hailed the 18-year-old after his recent form.

Black has been playing regularly for the England Under-19s this term, recently scoring his first international goal.

Spurs confirmed via their official website earlier this year (5 March) that Black had signed his first professional contract with the club, and according to Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – the deal is a long-term one.

“Black seems to fly under the radar a little bit,” Wenham said.

“He has been getting some serious game time with the England Under-19s. He’s another player playing a year up at international level.

“There are some really exciting players at the club, and he is one of them. Spurs obviously like him as they rewarded him with a long-term contract this year.”

Black has been making quite the impact at Hotspur Way. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was on Postecoglou’s radar for a first-team debut.

If Spurs continue to progress positively in the Europa League, the Australian might be able to afford to hand some more young players minutes in the competition over the coming weeks.

And Black would likely be near the top of any list of Spurs youngsters to feature.

With his long-term future committed to the club, Spurs must ensure they manage his progression into the first team in the right manner.
