Lilywhite Rose thrilled as Tottenham sign 'Exciting' teen defender from PL club

John Wenham claims Tottenham held off competition from plenty of clubs to sign Under-15 centre-back Oscar Sandiford.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims Spurs had to go through the FA’s five-stage process and agree on a compensation fee with the defender’s former club, Crystal Palace.

It was shared via Lilywhite Rose on X (10 October) that Sandiford had signed for Tottenham.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is excited by Spurs’ prospects at centre-back.

“We beat off a lot of competition to get this deal over the line,” Wenham said.

“The club had to go through the FA’s five-stage process to get that verified and had to pay a compensation figure to Palace as well.

“He seems to be an exciting centre-back for the future and joins a talented group of young centre-backs already in North London. Therefore, Tottenham are looking strong in that area.”

This won’t have any impact on Spurs’ first team or Ange Postecoglou at the moment. However, it is yet another example of the club looking toward the future.

Mikey Moore is already on the books and making an impact at senior level. Meanwhile, Luka Vušković is continuing to make waves ahead of joining Spurs next summer.

And that is just a couple of the young players for Spurs and Postecoglou to get excited about.

Therefore, if the Australian can find a way to fit them all in, Spurs could have some serious talent on their hands in the coming years, as Sandiford becomes the latest young player to arrive in North London.
