Guglielmo Vicario and Pat Jennings appear to both hold high hopes for Tottenham gem Josh Keeley.
Keeley has been making quite the impact for Leyton Orient on loan this season.
As a result, the 21-year-old goalkeeper has been mooted to join a Championship club on loan next year, and it seems as though Tottenham have high hopes for the young shot-stopper.
That is according to Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham, who exclusively told Tottenham News that Keeley is on the radar of first-team ace Vicario, as well as legendary Spurs goalkeeper Jennings.
“Even while he was on loan with Barnet, Vicario went to watch him a couple of times,” Wenham said.
“He is often in contact, as is Jennings, who is also an Irishman and an idol for Josh. Therefore, it seems as though he is really well-liked and highly thought of at Tottenham.
“And they certainly see him as someone who has a long-term future at the club.”
Josh Keeley to make a big impact at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
Jennings is a player who many Spurs fans will have fond memories of. Therefore, if he is a fan of Keeley, that is bound to get supporters on his side.
And capturing the attention of the current number one likely won’t hurt either. Vicario looks as though he could be the main man between the sticks in North London for quite some time.
However, when it comes to the number two position, a gap could soon open up, although the club are expected to sign a new goalkeeper in January.
Keeley shouldn’t be put off by this though, and must keep working hard to prove that he deserves to be the next Tottenham number one.
