Liverpool fans: Andrew Robertson is 'finished' after what he did v Ipswich

Liverpool fans are insisting Andrew Robertson is now “finished” at the club after his performance in the Premier League opener v Ipswich.

Arne Slot’s side recorded a 2-0 win at Portman Road thanks to goals from Diogo Jota and Mohammed Salah as the boss picked up all three points in his first competitive game.

However, fans grew frustrated with Robertson’s display throughout.

The left-back was heavily involved in the build-up play on the ball, coming into a more central position as he was trusted to help build from the back in possession to create with his passing.

This represented a complete change from his more direct role under Jurgen Klopp, when his job was to provide a threat down the left flank and cause issues with balls into the box.

Fans have taken to social media in reaction to the change of role, with his performance described as “horrible” as he struggled to adapt to the new system.

The left-back also took the majority of Liverpool’s set pieces on his side, much to the frustration of supporters who questioned the reasoning behind it.

His lack of impact on the game came following a frustrating season for the Scotland international last time out, and fans are now fed up with his disappointing displays.

Supporters took to social media during the game to express their frustrations, with Roberson labelled “finished” and a “disgrace”.
