Liverpool Sources: Big Eberechi Eze update

Liverpool target Eberechi Eze is open to leaving Crystal Palace for a new challenge in 2025, sources have told Football Insider.

The 26-year-old, who is yet to replicate his stellar 2023-24 campaign form so far this term, was a target for the Reds and Tottenham in the summer window and it is believed that their interest remains active.

Eze had a release clause worth around £68million in his contract but it expired without being activated during the summer window.

However, it has been reported (as per the Daily Mail, 4 September) that the clause will reactivate in 2025 – opening the door to more potential interest.

Palace chairman Steve Parish has admitted he was “astounded” that no club came in for the attacking midfielder during the off-season.

Michael Olise departed for Bayern Munich and it is believed Eze is open to following his lead by leaving for a new challenge after seeing his success in Bavaria.

The nine-cap star improved his reputation with a string of appearances for England during the European Championships in the summer.

Eze has made eight appearances for Palace so far this season, notching three goals and one assist.

He is under contract at Selhurst Park until June 2027 after penning his most recent extension in November 2023.

The 26-year-old notched 11 goals and six assists in 31 games across all competitions last term.
