Swedish youngster Daniel Svensson says Liverpool have been watching him in action and he expects to move on from current club Nordsjaelland either in January or next summer.

The 22-year-old has been touted as a target for both the Reds and Juventus despite having no particularly high level experience to his name yet.

The versatile midfielder, who can play at full-back, plays in the Danish Super Liga with Nordsjaelland and turned out in the Europa Conference League last season.

He is yet to be capped by the Sweden senior team, although has been called up to the national team squad, sitting on the bench for two friendlies earlier this year.

However, he has done enough to catch the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, and he is thrilled by the transfer talk.

‘Great fun, of course. It’s a sign that I’m doing something right and performing well,’ he told fotbollskanalen of the transfer speculation. ‘I just take it as fuel to drive on. Of course, it was a bit surreal. It was perhaps not entirely expected that I would read about it.’

On links with Liverpool particularly, he added: ‘I don’t know much about it. I just know that they have seen some games and such. More than that, I don’t know.

‘I’m in the fifth season now. The idea is that I’m going to move on relatively soon anyway. It’s absolutely not impossible, but it might be that I play the whole season and then move on.

‘The club has said that they want to keep certain players for the rest of the season, and I seem to be one of those players. It is likely that I will stay for the rest of the season.

‘I have played many seasons in Denmark and especially towards the end it has gone well. I’m absolutely ready (to move on).’
