'Lots' - Alan Myers issues further Everton signings update after Ndiaye

Everton are active in the transfer market behind the scenes as they look to add further signings, according to Alan Myers.

The Sky Sports journalist replied via Twitter on 3 July after the Toffees confirmed the arrival of Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille to report that there is plenty more being looked at still.

Ndiaye is the third signing of the summer after Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa and another loan for Jack Harrison from Leeds United, while Omari Benjamin has joined the under-21s on a permanent deal.

Myers wrote of further incomings: “Lots going on in the background, whether anything is close I’m not so sure.”

Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell want more Everton arrivals

It was starting to cause some edginess that Ndiaye’s signing hadn’t been confirmed officially despite seemingly being wrapped up last week, so Wednesday’s announcement is another positive step.

In light of recent transfer windows this summer is starting to resemble some normality at Goodison Park, as Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell look to strengthen the squad.

Finances are surely not going to be extensive in light of the pair of profit and sustainability breaches last season.

But with the Dan Friedkin takeover apparently moving in the right direction and deals done to get past the 30 June PSR deadline in tact, plus further sales likely still on the cards, it seems Everton are finally in position to make moves on incoming business.

Everton are active in the transfer market currently.

There appears to be a focus on central midfield with talks held over Celtic star Matt O’Riley [HITC, 2 July] and transfer battle on for Benfica’s Florentino Luis [Record, 30 June].

Top priority potentially still remains keeping hold of Jarrad Branthwaite, but if the budget allows then adding depth throughout the squad, more firepower in attack, and potentially upgrades at full-back, would be welcome for a fanbase that has been feeding on scraps in the market in the past couple of seasons.

In other Everton news, a striker the Toffees want to sign has been offered up for a Premier League transfer.
