Wenham tips Tottenham to sell first-team star for £20m and sign his replacement for £10m

John Wenham believes Tottenham could look to replace Emerson Royal with Kyle Walker-Peters.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose claims that the North London side could make a £10million profit by bringing in Walker-Peters and letting Emerson leave.

It comes after a report by talkSPORT (9 May) revealed that Walker-Peters is a target for Spurs while Fabrizio Romano shared via X (14 May) that Emerson could be allowed to leave the club.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – feels that this would be sensible business by Daniel Levy.

“Emerson could fetch a fee of £20million and I believe Walker-Peters would be available for around £10million,” Wenham said.

“He has just one year left on his Southampton deal, and he would count as another homegrown option.

“That would allow the club to utilise their 17 non-homegrown spots.

“I think it would be sensible squad planning to replace Emerson with Walker-Peters.”

Emerson has struggled under Ange Postecoglou.

Walker-Peters is far more suited to operate as an attacking fullback, while he is also homegrown.

Therefore, if Tottenham could profit off this reshuffling of their squad, it would represent fantastic business.
