Wenham speculates ex-Tottenham player wants Spurs return in 'Ginormous' transfer verdict

John Wenham believes Kyle Walker-Peters would be keen to quit Southampton and re-sign for Tottenham after a recent transfer update.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels that there would be plenty of opportunities for the right-back should he make a return to North London.

It comes after a report from talkSPORT (9 May) revealed that Spurs are keen on re-signing Walker-Peters as Ange Postecoglou searches for cover for Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the 27-year-old would jump at the opportunity to re-sign for his former club.

“Some people have asked me why Walker-Peters would want to return,” Wenham said.

“Firstly, Tottenham are a ginormous club compared to Southampton.

“This season we have played such few games and there have still been several injury issues.

“There will be plenty of minutes to go around next season, and Walker-Peters will be thinking that a move to Spurs could get him back in the England squad.”

Ange Postecoglou could benefit from the arrival of Kyle Walker-Peters at Tottenham

Walker-Peters could be the perfect fit for Postecoglou.

He is an attack-minded full-back with plenty of experience who would be able to fill in effectively for Porro or Udogie.

Walker-Peters’ deal with the Saints expires next summer, which could make him an affordable option for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
