Manchester City fans have a seriously bright future to look forward to.

The likes of Savinho, Josko Gvardiol, Jeremy Doku, Rico Lewis, Oscar Bobb and Phil Foden should be able to push the Citizens towards more silverware for years to come, while the talented Claudio Echeverri is also arriving from River Plate in 2025.

Pep Guardiola’s current crop aren’t bad themselves, as Manchester City sit top of the Premier League and on course to win a fifth consecutive title.

Now – according to Fabrizio Romano – Manchester City feel they have another top talent emerging, one who could become an important player at the Etihad Stadium soon.

Manchester City excited by Ryan McAidoo

The reliable Italian journalist has now revealed how Manchester City insiders feel about Ryan McAidoo – who was signed from Chelsea in August 2024.

Romano wrote on X (previously known as Twitter): “Manchester City are extremely happy with the deal they completed last summer for 2008 born talent Ryan McAidoo. Excellent contribution with G/A (goals and assists) in the academy as club remains convinced he could become an important player.”

Described as “a player with explosive speed and versatility” on Manchester City’s official website, there is huge excitement surrounding the 16-year-old.

McAidoo – who Arsenal also tried to sign from Chelsea – boasts three goals and one assist in six U18 Premier League games this season, while he also has three assists in three UEFA Youth League outings.

Chelsea will be gutted, having lost Rio Ngumoha as well

It would seem that some young talents at Chelsea are growing disillusioned by the lack of senior opportunities available at Stamford Bridge.

The likes of Marc Guehi, Conor Gallagher, Lewis Hall and Ian Maatsen have all been sold under Todd Boehly in place of expensive imports such as Benoit Badiashile, Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez, which could well be alienating youngsters within Cobham.

Not only did McAidoo depart for Manchester City, but Chelsea recently lost Rio Ngumoha to Liverpool as well, another potential star of the future.

If precocious talents are becoming disillusioned at Stamford Bridge, something must change quickly, especially as these gems are moving to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals.
