Manchester City have lost Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid this summer, but save for Ilkay Gundogan, have not moved to replace the Argentine. That does not mean they have not evaluated potential options, one of which is reportedly Copenhagen starlet Orri Oskarsson.
The Icelandic striker has been linked with numerous clubs this summer, including Girona and Atalanta, but now The Athletic are reporting that City are one of those teams. That said, Txiki Begiristain is not expected to make a move for Oskarsson before the end of the transfer window.
@David_Ornstein acaba de publicar que la Real sigue intentando firmar a Oscarsson, ampliando que Porto y varios clubes Premier lo están intentando tmb. Porto and Real Sociedad are noted as suitors by RadioMarca’s Yon Cuezva, although the Portuguese side have just signed Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid. La Real are yet to sign a striker this summer, despite Umar Sadiq clearly being deemed dispensable by Imanol Alguacil. Oskarsson, 19, has 7 goals and an assist for Copenhagen in his 11 appearances so far this season. After making a move from Iceland to Copenhagen as a kid, he went on loan to Sonderjyske and managed 31 appearances for the senior side last year.
