Everton have struggled overall this season, even after a recent uplift in form, and currently sit just four points ahead of the relegation zone.
Following the completion of The Friedkin Group’s takeover of the club, there is hope that the Toffees will be able to save themselves this season.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, TFG will no doubt give Sean Dyche the backing to bring in some additions to help the side improve.
However, PSR regulations will play their part, meaning the Blues will have to be smart with their business next month.
Crucially, Dyche needs to make additions that will add to his side’s goal tally, with a creative spark missing so far this term.
One name the Toffees were linked with in the summer was Tom Fellows from West Brom, and it may well be that he is still on the Toffees’ radar just a week or so out from the window opening next month.
Tom Fellows could be addition Dominic Calvert-Lewin needs at Everton
At just 21 years old, Fellows would certainly be a long-term signing that would be an exciting mark of the new era underway on Merseyside after TFG takeover.
Though Fellows is yet to get going in terms of scoring goals for West Brom this term, with only one so far, the attacking player has tallied up eight assists and that could make him a crucial player in the offensive unit for Everton.
Calvert-Lewin has been utterly disappointing for his side this season and supporters will have been expecting a lot more from their striker of so many years this term.
Therefore, having a player who can actually provide that delivery on a consistent basis may be exactly what the striker needs to get going again at Goodison Park.
Calvert-Lewin finds himself out of contract at the end of the season, meaning time is running out for the striker to earn himself a new deal.
It certainly feels as though it could be a now-or-never situation, and the arrival of Fellows should it happen may just prove a turning point.
In other Everton news, TFG will bring ‘considerable investment’ to the Blues after £850m financial news.
