Manchester United are moving quickly to replace Erik ten Hag, with speculation pointing towards the prospective appointment of Ruben Amorim.
Ten Hag was sacked on Monday after a 2-1 defeat against West Ham on Sunday, which left the Red Devils 14th in the Premier League table.
And on Tuesday, speculation began doing the rounds with regards to Man United and Ruben Amorim, the head coach of Sporting Lisbon.
Early on Tuesday afternoon, Fabrizio Romano declared “here we go” on Amorim to Old Trafford.
The transfer insider said the Red Devils are set to pay his €10million (£8.5million) release clause, and that the coach has “already said yes” to their proposal.
Romano then shared a follow-up update regarding that Man United and Amorim are now said to be in talks over.
Manchester United and Ruben Amorim now in talks over backroom staff
Later on in the day, Romano provided another update, namely that Man United have “already started talks with Ruben Amorim about his backroom staff”.
The transfer insider said the Red Devils and Man United “remain in contact to proceed with formal steps” after the latter confirmed they would trigger Amorim’s exit clause.

When could Amorim be in charge at Man United?
Sky Sports claimed on Tuesday afternoon that a deal has not been done yet, while sources insist an announcement on Man United’s new permanent manager is not imminent.
However, if a compensation package can be agreed, Amorim could be in the dugout at Old Trafford for Sunday’s Premier League home game with Chelsea, reported Melissa Reddy.
