Mason Greenwood Exclusive: Three PL club make moves to sign Man United star

Mason Greenwood is wanted by three Premier League clubs as he looks set to leave Manchester United this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

The trio have registered their interest in the forward, 22, and Borussia Dortmund have also enquired about his availability after Football Insider revealed last month United have told the player’s representatives they will sell him if a “significant” offer comes in for his services.

Sources say a move abroad remains the more likely option for Greenwood following his impressive loan spell at Getafe, where he registered 10 goals and six assists in 36 games.

Man United are still planning to sell the one-cap England international this summer and don’t want to send him out on loan again, with his contract due to expire in June 2025.

Football Insider revealed earlier this month Old Trafford chiefs are looking for a fee in excess of £40million to sell the winger this summer.

Greenwood likely to move abroad as Man United exit expected

Greenwood hasn’t played for Man United since he was arrested in January 2022 after being accused of attempted rape and assault, with the charges later dropped.

The Bradford-born winger has proven he is still capable of playing at a high level following his fruitful year-long loan spell in La Liga with Getafe.

Although Premier League sides have expressed an interest in signing the Englishman this summer, it is believed a permanent move abroad could be the easier deal for him to complete.

There is significant interest in Greenwood from top clubs across Europe, with Bundesliga side Dortmund joining Italian giants Juventus in the race for his signature.

Reports have emerged suggesting the Red Devils are now on the verge of triggering a one-year extension in the winger’s contract, meaning it will run until June 2026.

The extension activation would be taken by the club to protect the value of their asset rather than to suggest Greenwood has a future at Man United as he is expected to leave the club this summer.
