Fiorentina still weighing up David de Gea call

Fiorentina are very close to signing USMNT midfielder Tanner Tessman from Venezia. They want to seal the deal for the 22-year-old in the coming days, but they tell me the signing is on the verge of being done, and if nothing goes wrong, then he will play for La Viola.

Then there’s the David de Gea matter for the goalkeeper spot: he was offered to them, they are evaluating him as an option, but they have not taken a decision yet on whether to go for him.

Then there’s also the Nico Gonzalez issue too. There’s the interest from Atalanta, but also from Juventus. The player would be excited to go to Juventus, and has already said yes to the project, but I would not rule out Juve trying to include a player in the deal. That could be another USMNT midfielder in Weston McKennie.

If Gonzalez does leave, then they want Genoa wide-man Albert Gudmundsson as their number one target, and they are already in talks for him. It would be a paid for loan with an obligation to buy.

Dani Olmo pushing for move to Barcelona – two keys to deal

Barcelona already have an agreement in principle with Dani Olmo, and the player only wants to go to Barcelona, he is putting pressure on RB Leipzig to make the deal happen. Barcelona have almost offered the €60m asking price, the last offer we have information on was €55m, plus €4m in easy variables, and €3m that were harder to achieve.

I believe they are still discussing the bonuses and the payment schedule, and it may be that Barcelona need to up their offer a little. The clubs are negotiating though, and clearly Leipzig will try to make as much money as they can on a player that is key for them.

The talks are heading in the right direction though, and I think will come down to how much Barcelona pay in bonuses and how much in a fixed fee, perhaps altering that.

The player is pushing for the move, Barcelona are very confident in doing the deal and think it could happen, and then there’s Leipzig – they know Olmo wants to go, so they will negotiate, right now there is optimism.

Why Conor Gallagher decision on Atletico Madrid is being held up

As things stand, Atletico Madrid have already made an offer to Conor Gallagher, and they have already reached an agreement with Chelsea. They are just waiting on a response from Gallagher and his agents. The Chelsea midfielder is thinking over things carefully.

He knows there is a lot of pressure from Chelsea to do the deal, because they do not want him to go to a competitor, and that the only side that have made an offer that has satisfied Chelsea’s demands is Atletico – so there is a lot of pressure to get the deal done.

But as I say, this could change rapidly, we still don’t have the green light from the player. We are still waiting, but I don’t think Atletico will hang around long for an answer either.

With Gallagher, he knows that his time at Chelsea is most likely up. The matter is not so much whether he wants to go to Atletico or not, but he is weighing up the fact that in six months time, he could sign a deal with anybody, and potentially earn a good bit more money. The prospect of being a free agent is the main obstacle right now for Atletico.

Matter of time for Atletico Madrid and Alexander Sorloth

Atletico Madrid have the signing of Alexander Sorloth practically sealed, and they want him to be their number nine for the next few years. There’s even an agreement in principle on terms, but they are waiting until Villarreal tie up a replacement. Right now they are set on Borja Mayoral at Getafe, and trying to wrestle him from the grasps of Real Sociedad.

They have have been in talks for Mayoral for weeks, but have not managed to close the deal, as Umar Sadiq remains at the club, and has not left. Sorloth is all but done.

With David Hancko, it continues to look tricky due to the differences between the clubs over price, as we’ve been saying. So they are scouring the market for other options as things stand. One player who was heavily linked with them at the start of the summer is Cristhian Mosquera at Valencia. Los Che told Atletico that they want to hold onto the 20-year-old for another year though, and since, it hasn’t advanced.

Maybe it changes in the final few weeks, but Valencia are sticking to that for now. It’s true that Atletico enquired about Mosquera again, but they were met with that response, that Valencia want to hang onto him for now.

Matteo Moretto will be back with more transfer news in the coming days, providing exclusive information on the biggest stories in Spain and Italy.
