Ianis Hagi is currently playing more senior football for Romania than he is at Rangers and Ibrox, and that continued on Monday 9 September.
The playmaker came off the bench to win a late penalty in the 3-1 win over Lithuania in the second round of UEFA Nations League fixtures.
Hagi admitted after the game that he will return to Glasgow on Tuesday 10 September and is ready to fight for his place under Philippe Clement.
The Romanian media was full of praise for the midfielder, with Pro Sport calling him “Cunning” for his work to win the penalty that put his country ahead late on.
Fanatik was also impressed, labelling Hagi as a “Metronome” as he dictated the end result from his clever work in the box.
Rangers to make Ianis Hagi decision
Despite the playmaker admitting that he wants to fight for his spot at Ibrox, it seems Clement has already decided about his future.
Stuck in the B team, Hagi is far too good for that and something has to be done to change it.
Despite a wage clause that could see it increase with another appearance, a new agreement was mooted which would allow him to play without that worry [David Edgar].
It all becomes even more baffling when you consider that Hagi is easily better than some of the rubbish currently playing every single week.
Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo and even the likes of Scott Wright before he left for Birmingham were getting regular minutes in the starting side.
That is nowhere good enough and is part of the reason why Rangers find themselves already five points behind Celtic and Aberdeen at the summit.
Something needs to change, could it be Hagi?
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues are ready to allow a major exit to go through despite the transfer deadline passing.
