'From what I’ve been told...' - Expert: Tottenham youth's new deal to become active on 11 Aug

John Wenham claims Mikey Moore has already signed a contract with Tottenham which will turn professional after his 17th birthday.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has backed the club to keep hold of their talented young forward.

As reported by HITC (8 July), Real Madrid are one of several top European sides keeping an eye on Moore.

But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t see the 16-year-old going anywhere anytime soon.

“There seems to be a lot of speculation around Moore,” Wenham said.

“From what I’ve been told he has already signed a professional contract to remain with Tottenham, and that will become official after his 17th birthday on 11 August.

“Therefore, we will have to wait and see what happens with that. However, it doesn’t look as if he will be going anywhere.”

It would be a huge body blow to Spurs if they were to lose Moore.

He is arguably the club’s most talented youngster and Ange Postecoglou will no doubt have big plans for him, especially after he got on the scoresheet during Spurs’ 5-1 victory over Hearts on Wednesday (17 July).

Interest from Real Madrid will no doubt be tempting for Moore, but he is much better off remaining with his boyhood club and continuing to progress through the ranks.

A move to the likes of Madrid would perhaps come too early and therefore derail his development.

However, with those kinds of clubs being mentioned, Spurs must ensure they continue to provide the winger with a pathway.

Otherwise, his head could soon be turned, and this most recent contract might be the last one he signs with the club.
