'No doubt': Paul Scholes now makes claim about Arsenal after seeing Liverpool win at Old Trafford today

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes was on hand to see Liverpool beat his former team today and he’s now made a big prediction about the title race.

Scholes looked on from the side as Liverpool ran riot at Old Trafford really and could and should have won by more.

Indeed, Jamie Carragher was angry with Dominik Szoboszlai for passing up an easy chance while Dion Dublin also backed the opinion on Szoboszlai at the time.

The Reds have now won every game of the Arne Slot era and with the title always the aim, they are already causing a stir in those conversations.

So much so, that the aforementioned Scholes has suggested Liverpool could even surpass Arsenal in the race to catch Man City.

Liverpool tipped to beat Arsenal in bid to chase down Manchester City

Speaking on Premier League Productions about the title race, Scholes admitted he can now see Liverpool being the team above Arsenal who can challenge Man City.

“There’s a real dominance about this Liverpool squad. They could really challenge for that title this year,” Scholes said.

“Three games in. Before a ball had been kicked I thought Arsenal might be there to give City a real go and possibly go onto win it. But after watching the first three games, I think Liverpool could go past Arsenal.

“They were up there a long part of last season. They only fell away the last few games. If they keep the squad together and keep the majority of that fit, I think that’s a team that can challenge City, no doubt.”

Liverpool look the real deal

You cannot get away from the fact that Manchester United were pretty dire at times but in the main, Liverpool look the business.

Arne Slot has already imparted his wisdom on the team and you can tell they are playing for the new manager already.

Remarkably, it’s almost like the issue of Jurgen Klopp leaving has been glossed over, such has been Liverpool’s smooth transition.

Make no mistake, Scholes has a great point here and Liverpool could very much end up being the main challengers to Pep Guardiola’s side.
