'Not what fans want to hear' - Simon Jordan predicts what will happen with Everton in May

Simon Jordan has delivered his prediction on how Everton will fare this season, as the club juggle instability concerns.

Discussing the club live on talkSPORT with co-host Jim White [27 August], Jordan insists fans are crying out for stability and whilst he predicts the Toffees will survive in the Premier League come next May, he hopes off-field issues will soon be resolved.

Everton sit bottom of the Premier League table having conceded seven goals in two games and not yet scored, with a Carabao Cup distraction up next on Tuesday night (27 August) as Doncaster Rovers visit Goodison Park.

Former Crystal Palace owner Jordan said: “They’ve got a good enough side and a good enough group of players to overcome this adversity and simply not be one of the three relegated sides. I know that’s not what fans want to hear.

“They want a progressive football club, and that may well come in time when the ownership situation resolves itself and the new stadium comes into play.

“But for now its all hands to the deck to get them into a situation where they can just get some stability.”

Everton desperate for progress

Everton fans are exhausted – and it’s still August.

The positive finale to last season which saw Sean Dyche steer the club 14 points clear of safety in the league seems a way off, considering the carnage that has since ensued upstairs, with two rounds of takeover talks collapsing.

There is considered to be a low likelihood of third exclusive party John Textor acquiring Farhad Moshiri’s majority stake in the club [The Esk, 26 August], with debts building as the club edge closer to moving into the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium this time next year.

And that’s before the poor start to this season is taken into account which boiled over into the incident at Euston station between sections of fans and the squad, after being thrashed by Tottenham at the weekend.

Jordan and Textor are linked by their Palace associations, and this was the now-broadcaster’s latest take on exclusivity talks between the American and Moshiri.

In other Everton news, Andros Townsend issues his verdict on Dyche’s future.
