Nottingham Forest fans have been amazed by the club’s transfer business after Newcastle paid £20million to sign Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Reports claimed the £35million fee paid to sign Elliot Anderson from Newcastle was “effectively in the region of £15million” when factoring in Vlachodimos’ move.
That would make the goalkeeper’s move to the Magpies worth a massive £20million – leaving both Forest and Newcastle fans stunned.
Both clubs found themselves in difficult positions with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, meaning their player exchange saw heavily inflated prices traded.
The same had been seen with the likes of Aston Villa and Everton as clubs looked to find loopholes to avoid possible rule breaches.
However, fans were stunned to learn of the fee involved in Vladochimos’ deal.
Nottingham Forest fans stunned by £20m Vladochimos deal
Vladochimos joined Forest from Benfica last summer in a deal worth around £4million, meaning his exit earned the club £16million in profit.
Supporters were stunned by the fee, labelling it “sensational business”, while others insisted a statue should be built in honour of the transfer team who sealed the deal.
In other news, Wolves have pulled out of a deal to sign Che Adams.
