Nottingham Forest fans stunned by 'insulting' Neco Williams offer

Nottingham Forest fans have named their prices after West Ham made a shock move to sign right-back Neco Williams.

Reports claimed that the Hammers had made a cash-plus-player deal to sign the Welshman which was immediately rebuffed by Forest.

The Hammers are said to be searching for a new right-back to provide competition to Vladimir Coufal this summer, but Forest are determined to hold on to their man.

With two years left on his current deal at the City Ground, Forest still hold the cards over his exit.

Fans have also insisted they should keep hold of Williams beyond this summer despite the interest from elsewhere, naming “stupid” price tags to pry him away.

Williams joined Forest from Liverpool for a fee of £17million in 2022 and he has since played 68 games for the club.

Last season, he established himself as an important player at the club after making 32 appearances under Steve Cooper and Nuno Espirito Santo.

The offer from West Ham was labelled “insulting” as fans were shocked that an offer had arrived, while others insisted he would not be for sale.

However, others insisted they would take fees of “£20million”, “£35million” and as much as “£40million” to let the full-back leave in the summer transfer window.
