Richarlison reacts to Everton takeover amid Tottenham exit speculation

Richarlisn has shown his affection for Everton after the Tottenham man gave his reaction to the takeover of his former club.

After reports earlier this week that the Friedkin Group’s move to purchase a controlling stake in the club from Farhad Moshiri was a done deal, that was confirmed on Thursday (19 December).

With the Toffees taking to Instagram to announce the news of their change in ownership, Richarlison – who scored 53 goals in 153 appearances for Everton between 2018 and 2022 – responded by liking that post.

It has been a tough time for the Brazilian since he left Goodison Park for Tottenham, and he is currently enduring a spell on the sidelines due to injury.

There have even been claims in his home country from Fluminese president Mario Bittencourt that he is trying to sign Richarlison, and that the 27-year-old could be open to the move, with Spurs prepared to listen to offers (Globo).

It clearly seems as though Richarlison does still have some interest in his old club, which could interest some of those on the blue half of Merseyside.

Even prior to his injury issues, things did not seem to be going as well for the striker at Tottenham as they had been for him at Everton.

So with an exit now potentially on the cards, a possible return to the Toffees is something that may be on the minds of a few people connected with the parties involved.

After a takeover such as this there are also going to be significant changes at a club, and that can often include within the playing squad.

Things such as this also imply that the 27-year-old has not completely cut off all connection he might feel he previously had with Everton.

The Friedkin Group and others may therefore need to be aware of a potential opportunity here if Richarlison is indeed to leave Tottenham in the near future.
