Rangers defender Neraysho Kasanwirjo left the Netherlands media stunned after his performance for the Under-21 side against Sweden.
Jong Oranje took on the young Swedes in UEFA Euro U21 qualification on 14 October at the Goffertstadion, winning with ease 3-0.
Kasanwirjo was the architect for the Dutch junior team, setting up Emanuel Emegha in the first minute of the game and then assisting Rav van den Berg for the second.
Therefore, it was no surprise to see the 22-year-old’s performance illicit some overwhelming reactions from back home, with VoetbalPrimeur writing: “The start is good: Emanuel Emegha heads in a phenomenal cross from Neraysho Kasanwirjo flawlessly.”
Sportnieuws had this to say about it: “From a beautiful, in-turned cross by Neraysho Kasanwirjo, the 21-year-old striker from French Strasbourg headed the ball past Sweden goalkeeper Oliver Dovin.”
AD.nl were also impressed with the Rangers loanee, writing: “The precise cross was from Neraysho Kasanwirjo and with a counter-intuitive header Emanuel Emegha nodded the reserves on their way to victory number 10.”
Neraysho Kasanwirjo has the talent to make it at Rangers
Rangers signed Kasanwirjo on loan from Feyenoord in the summer of 2024, and the Dutch national has been a bit-part player for Philippe Clement.
The 22-year-old has made five appearances so far for the Gers this season, starting only in the 2-0 victory over Malmo in the Europa League.
However, despite Kasanwirjo’s lack of game time, the defender has shown glimpses of his talent and versatility at the club.
While the Dutch national primarily plays as a right-back, he also can play on the left, something that can come in handy throughout the campaign.
However, Kasanwirjo has to contend with the likes of James Tavernier, Dujon Sterling and Jefte to get into the team.
Hopefully, Clement will be able to develop the Dutch youngster further, but will his move be made permanent in the coming months? Only time will tell.
In other Rangers news, Philippe Clement will be delighted with what Nedim Bajrami did in the last 24 hours.
