'Something is happening' - Wenham drops Tottenham takeover claim after recent image emerges

John Wenham believes something is going on behind the scenes between Tottenham and Amanda Staveley.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose isn’t sure whether any potential investment would lead to a full takeover of the club.

As previously reported by the Mirror (28 September) Staveley is in “advanced talks” to invest in Tottenham.

According to Alan Nixon via Patreon (13 October) Eddie Howe could soon be on Spurs’ radar should Staveley get into a position of power at the club, suggesting that things are progressing behind the scenes.

And during the NFL match between the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (13 October), another example of Levy’s genius on display, Staveley was pictured in attendance (via Lilywhite Rose on X, 13 October).

Therefore, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is confident something is going on.

“I think we can safely say something is happening there,” Wenham said.

“At all times Tottenham are open to investment opportunities, they’ve made that clear in the past. However, it has always been as a minority investment rather than a full takeover.

“Therefore, I don’t know how much difference we would notice if Staveley and her consortium did come in. However, I could be wrong, because Sir Jim Ratcliffe has a minority stake at Manchester United but seems to be the one in total control.

“Time will tell on this. However, there does seem to be something there.”

Amanda Staveley to invest in Tottenham?

It is becoming increasingly more likely that Staveley is close to investing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, what that means for the club or Levy’s position as Spurs chairman remains to be seen. While this all started as speculation, it is becoming difficult to ignore.

With Staveley pictured at Spurs, that all but confirms something is definitely going on behind the scenes.
