Player to jet in to UK in next 48 hours to seal Rangers transfer - report

Rangers target Yusuf Kabadayi is heading to the UK to discuss personal terms with the Ibrox club ahead of a potential transfer, according to The 4th Official.

Speaking in the Bluenose Bulletin on YouTube, the podcaster said Bayern Munich winger Kabadayi jetting into the UK for further talks with the club suggests that he could be on the way to becoming a Gers player next season.

Lecce were also mentioned as a frontrunner to sign the 20-year-old former Schalke loanee [SchalkeZone], but Kabadayi meeting club officials in the next 48 hours implies that he is leaning more towards the Light Blues.

The 4th Official said: “[It’s] by no means a done deal. However, from what I’m hearing, Kabadayi will be jetting into the UK for further talks with Rangers of the course of the next 48 hours.

“If personal terms can be agreed, then Kabadayi may well be a player for Rangers coming into the new season.”

Kabadayi transfer could address problem position at Rangers

Rangers had a plethora of wide players at their disposal last season, yet several of those options flattered to deceive, particularly on the biggest stage against teams like Celtic.

Wolves loanee Fabio Silva was lambasted on a near-weekly basis by pundits for his inconsistency, while Kemar Roofe could no longer make the impact of old and failed to win a contract extension.

Rangers Philippe Clement
Philippe Clement could make Yusuf Kabadayi his latest summer signing for Rangers.

Abdallah Sima, on loan from Premier League Brighton and Hove Albion, was a significant bright spark across his 40 appearances, but picked up an injury just as the Gers’ late-season form began to turn for the worse.

All three of the aforementioned players are no longer part of the Ibrox fold, having been released or returned to parent clubs respectively, and thus the potential signing of Kabadayi is an early sign that Clement is far from happy with the attacking options at his disposal without players like Sima present.

Kabadayi, if he can agree personal terms, would be a solid signing to begin the Gers’ summer business in the attacking third, but having finished last season eight points and 10 goals difference behind arch-rivals Celtic, Rangers will know that much more is needed to help bridge the Old Firm gap.

In other Rangers news, Fabio Silva’s father has revealed that his son could have moved to Celtic instead of Ibrox in January
