Rangers star top of list to replace outgoing player at Euro club - report

Besiktas have placed Rangers star Ridvan Yilmaz top of their list to replace Arthur Masuaku who is leaving this summer, according to Ertan Suzgun.

The Turkish outfit are set to part ways with their current left back, Masuaku with him in talks with “some teams across Europe”.

As a replacement for the DR Congo international, Besiktas have placed Yilmaz “at the top of the list” as they look to sign him from Rangers.

The Turkish TV reporter has suggested (8 June) that “conditions will be difficult” for a summer move for both left-backs in the transfer window.

The Turkiye international played his fair share of games for the Gers in his second campaign since joining from Besiktas in 2022.

Yilmaz featured across 33 games for Rangers in all competitions last season as his side lost out to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and FA Cup.

It was a frustrating end to the season for everyone involved and Philippe Clement will hope for a better campaign next time around.

The Belgian is set to undergo a major rebuild at Ibrox over the summer with plenty of outgoings this summer for him to deal with.

The likes of Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram and Ryan Jack have departed at the end of their contracts leaving a gap in the squad.

This has been added to by links away for the likes of James Tavernier and Conor Goldson with Saudi Arabia knocking on the door.

Clement can not afford to let Yilmaz go this summer and risk his squad being shaken up even further ahead of the new season.
