Everton would be devastated by 'huge blow' if Dyche now quits - Keith Wyness

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed it would be devastating for the club if Sean Dyche quits the club this summer.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted it would be a “huge blow” if the 52-year-old decided to leave.

Football Insider revealed on 18 May that Dyche could sensationally look to leave Everton this summer due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club.

777 Partners have just failed to complete a takeover agreement, meaning the Merseysiders will have to find another preferred bidder to take them forward.

Dyche led Everton to safety in the 2023-24 campaign, finishing 15th on 48 points despite being deducted eight points for financial breaches.

The former Watford and Burnley boss is under contract at the club until June 2025.

Dyche not likely to quit Everton despite uncertainty, says Wyness

Wyness claimed Everton’s creditors and current owner Farhad Moshiri owe Dyche huge gratitude for his work at the club.

He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “I think Dyche will be sticking around at Everton.

“The present creditors, as well as Moshiri, should be thanking him greatly for what he’s done this season and making sure he stays next season.

“It would be a huge blow, probably the biggest blow – if he leaves this summer.

“I don’t think he will, I don’t think there’s any desire to do that.

“He’ll be quite happy with the performance. Everton would’ve had 48 points without the deduction, which is a very respectable total.

“I think it’s a great position for Dyche to be in, and he’ll stay.”
