Doctor View: Exit-bound Rangers player to pass medical if needed as Chris Jack issues update

Todd Cantwell is unlikely to fail a medical despite his two injuries in 2023/24 if he is to leave Rangers, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that his hamstring and knee setbacks were noteworthy but not significant and unlikely to cause any issues with him clearing the medical ahead of a potential transfer.

This comes after Rangers Review journalist Chris Jack reported on 3 July that the 26-year-old is expected to depart from Ibrox this summer.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Cantwell had two noteworthy injuries last season – one was a hamstring one and the other on his knee.

None of these injuries look too significant so wouldn’t be a major cause for concern here.

Same goes for him failing a medical.

It seems highly unlikely that there will be any issues with him being given the green signal for a transfer.

Rangers must consider Todd Cantwell at the right price

Gers should consider selling Cantwell if they receive a suitable offer, as his performances have been underwhelming since joining the club.

Despite showing early promise, the Englishman has struggled to consistently deliver the level of performance expected of him.

His underwhelming displays have led to growing frustration among fans and potentially the club’s management.

Ibrox is the home of Rangers FC.

If the Ibrox outfit can recoup a significant portion of the fee they paid for him, it would be a sensible decision to sell Cantwell and reinvest the funds in strengthening the squad in other areas.

In other Rangers news, Gers now know what they have to pay to sign a Dutch defender this summer.
