Premier League clubs on alert as Juventus transfer list EIGHT players
Juve have a lot of business to be done.
Juventus have transfer listed eight first team players, with Premier League clubs on alert as the Italian giants look to drastically trim their squad this summer.
The Turin club is making big changes under new manager Thiago Motta after a disappointing season last time round, finishing third in Serie A.
There have been some big signings, notably Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa, and the Old Lady are looking to trim the fat of the squad as well.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that the octet of Federico Chiesa, Wojciech Szczesny, Weston McKennie, Mattia De Sciglio, Arthur Melo, Filip Kostic, Hans Nicolussi-Caviglia and Daniele Rugani are all for sale during the current window.
Motta has made the feelings of the club very clear, saying: ‘They are out of the project and they have to find new club. We are convinced this is the best decision possible.
‘At this moment the club is looking for solutions elsewhere, they must find them as soon as possible for everyone’s sake.’
Some will find it easier than others to find a new club, with long-term interest in Chiesa from the Premier League and offers expected to be made.
Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle have all been linked with a move for the 26-year-old who has won 51 caps for Italy.
The former Fiorentina forward was a regular in the Juve team last season, making 37 appearances in all competitions and scoring 10 goals.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport report that Juventus have slashed Chiesa’s asking price to just €15m (£12.8m) as they look to offload him and avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.
Of the other transfer listed players, some have Premier League experience, with former Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny up for sale, as are McKennie and Melo, who spent loan spells at Leeds United and Liverpool respectively.
Szczesny has been linked with an emotional return to the Gunners to come in as back-up for David Raya if Aaron Ramsdale leaves this summer.
