Premier League side to sign young Rangers attacker in days - report

Nottingham Forest are set to sign young Rangers attacker Thompson Ishaka, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper has reported on its live blog [14 August, 10:49] that the Premier League side will look to complete the deal in a matter of days.

Ross Wilson, now at Forest, was involved in bringing Ishaka to Ibrox and is now set to give him a chance in England and the Premier League eventually.

The young winger is out of contract at the end of this season, so it doesn’t look like one that may get away with no hint of an extension in Govan.

Philippe Clement is in the middle of a rebuild and has plenty of spaces in his squad right now, so if he was so highly rated, Ishaka likely would have been involved in some capacity.

Ross McCausland, Oscar Cortes, Rabbi Matondo and Scott Wright are just four options that either cannot stay fit long enough or consistently perform to a high level.

At the time of his signing, it was labelled a “massive” coup for Rangers, who beat the likes of PSV Eindhoven to the winger, but he has been nowhere to be seen since [All Nigeria Soccer].

The Bears need all the cash they can get at the minute though, especially after missing out on the Champions League again, so every little helps.

Ishaka’s move will likely go through with little attention, but it will be interesting to see if Wilson may raid Ibrox and Auchenhowie again at Forest.
