Rangers await Council thumbs up on Copland Road stand as Ibrox away lockout on cards - report

Hibernian could see their away allocation completely cut at Ibrox for their clash against Rangers on September 29, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported via their website on 19 September that the Gers are awaiting the thumbs up from Glasgow City Council safety bosses on the new Copland Road Stand.

While a minimal amount of tickets are still likely to be available, there is a small chance that the allocation may not be handed out at all, with Rangers fans promised entry.

Rangers finally set for Ibrox return

Despite a drawn-out saga that lasted the entirety of the summer, Rangers are still having problems with their return to Ibrox.

After the project manager for the Copland Road revamp was fired due to the delays [Scottish Sun, 20 June], Rangers have had to play their home games at Hampden Park.

While this isn’t the be-all and end-all, everyone involved in the club would rather be at Ibrox.

Many expected this season to be different but after a lacklustre transfer window and the injury to multiple players such as Danilo [Chris Jack], it feels like Rangers are once again falling behind.

The Gers’ return to Ibrox against Dundee in the Premier Sports Cup on 21 September will be great and could genuinely be a turning point in their season.

Here’s hoping that the local authorities give the green light for away fans to return too, starting with Hibernian, to get that cracking matchday atmosphere back on track.
