Rangers duo doubts for Ross County clash as Clement shares new injury update

Rangers manager Philippe Clement has confirmed that Robin Propper will be a doubt for the Gers’ clash with Ross County.

The Light Blues welcome Don Cowie’s side to Hampden Park on Saturday (24 August) as they look to pick up their second league win in their last home game ahead of the September international break.

While Clement confirmed that speculation around Dujon Sterling’s fitness was untrue and that the Englishman would be fit to feature, he could well be without Scott Wright and Oscar Cortes as well as Propper.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday (23 August) he said: “Leon (Balogun) has returned. Robin (Propper) is a doubt for tomorrow but will be available next week.

“Oscar Cortes, I expect in training next week. A small muscle issue with Scott Wright has him a doubt.

“Sterling played last week with his arm issue, rumours on his injury were untrue he played last week with this small issue. He is a tough guy.”

Philippe Clement shares Ibrox injury update ahead of Rangers v Ross County

While Rangers’ focus will be entirely on Saturday’s clash at Hampden, the Gers will already have one eye on the first Old Firm derby of the campaign at Parkhead next week as they look to close to the gap to the Hoops.

While it is a blow that Clement will be without the likes of Propper, Wright and Cortes against Ross County, there appears to be optimism that all three could potentially return to the fold to face Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Obviously, beating County will be the top priority and even without Propper and Cortes the Gers have the power to pick up all three points at Hampden Park and cause their opponents plenty of problems in front of the home crowd.

Hopefully, the Light Blues come away victorious and without any new injury issues so that they’re in the perfect place to take on Celtic next week and head into the international break at least level at the top of the table.
