Rangers fans on social media are all saying that they would have beaten Celtic to the league title if they had signed Hearts forward Lawrence Shankland.

The 28-year-old opened the scoring at Tynecastle as Hearts drew 3-3 with the Glasgow giants on Saturday (18 May).

Shankland has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox but any potential move during the January transfer window collapsed.

As revealed by Football Insider, Rangers will have to break the Scottish record transfer fee if they attempt to sign Shankland this summer.

The current record fee between two Scottish clubs is the £4.4million paid by Celtic for Hibernian midfielder Scott Brown.

The travelling Gers fans witnessed first-hand what the Scottish forward is capable of as he ended the season by scoring his 30th goal in all competitions.

Supporters on social media are confident that, after watching Shankland today, he would have led Rangers to the league title if he was signed in January.

The draw against Hearts had no impact on the Scottish Premiership table with Celtic claiming the title earlier in the week.

Rangers will now turn their full attention towards next Saturday’s Scottish Cup final against arch-rivals Celtic.
