Rangers fans rage at 'embarrassing' Ianis Hagi twist

Rangers fans have been left fuming at Philippe Clement and the club after Ianis Hagi spoke out about his potential move away from Ibrox.

The Romania international has been ostracised from Clement’s squad and made to train and play with the B team throughout pre-season and into the new season.

It was widely reported that he had asked to leave the club in a similar situation to Todd Cantwell – but Hagi has now insisted he wants to stay.

The midfielder claimed via Instagram that he is willing to work around any issues to make himself available and “ready to help, work and fight for the club, team and manager.”

As a result, his statement has raised questions about why he has been forced out of the squad and told he has no future at the club.

Fans have been calling for Hagi to be reintroduced to the first team after his performances for the B-team, and those shouts have now grown louder.

Hagi’s statement comes shortly after his father Gheorghe spoke out about his future at Ibrox which left fans shocked after a move to Rapid Bucharest broke down.

The Romanian was once a fans-favourite at Ibrox for his performances in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, during which time he helped the club lift the SPFL title.

After a disappointing loan spell with Alaves in La Liga last year, it looked as if he was nailed on to leave Ibrox for good, but his future is now unclear.

Fans have now taken to social media in response to his statement, slamming the club for attempting to force him out as they have been labelled “horrendous” and “embarrassing”.
