Rangers are happy now that wantaway Todd Cantwell is set to be sold, according to Alan Myers.
The Sky Sports journalist reported via X (29 August) that both Blackburn Rovers and Rangers are pleased with the playmaker set to move to Ewood Park.
It has been shared that a six-figure fee has been agreed upon by the two clubs [Daily Record], with a move to be finalised by the deadline.
Todd Cantwell to leave Rangers
Cantwell’s time at Ibrox has been quite the rollercoaster. The former Norwich City man was brought in by Michael Beale as one of his marquee signings.
And, since then, despite the odd game where the winger would showcase his talent, the 26-year-old failed to live up to the hype he showed earlier in his career.
Although the 2023/24 season was something of a step up in terms of his form, he was still outshone by a number of his teammates in terms of returns.
The winger was also always outspoken and often had very public conflicts with fans on social media, which resulted in the attacker handing in not one but two transfer requests over the summer.
Although on paper Cantwell is one of the club’s better players, it comes as no real surprise that Philippe Clement and Rangers are happy to see the back of him.
In other Rangers news, Jack Butland’s representatives have shared a new transfer update ahead of the 30 August deadline.
