Real Madrid identify Tottenham ace Pedro Porro as Alexander-Arnold alternative

Real Madrid have identified Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro as an alternative to Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to AS.

Los Blancos have been monitoring the Spain international for quite a while and are still interested in him as a backup option if their move for Alexander-Arnold doesn’t materialise.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team are admirers of Porro’s qualities, and his development over the years makes him an even more exciting prospect for them, AS has said.

The 25-year-old has come into his own at Spurs since signing from Sporting in 2023 after struggling at the club initially.

Ange Postecoglou’s arrival has seen the Spaniard become an integral member of the team, contributing both defensively and in the final third.

Last season, the right-back scored three goals and provided seven assists in the Premier League, which is impressive for a defender, but some fans do feel he switches off at the back at times.

Porro has continued to be influential for the North Londoners in the current campaign, starting in every league game, and the right-back has also showcased his quality on the international stage recently.

But while the 25-year-old is arguably one of our best players, holding off interest from a club like Madrid is easier said than done, although Tottenham News have been told that the defender will likely sign a new contract at the club.

Apart from the Spain international, Postecoglou has used Archie Gray on the right-hand side of the defence, and the former Leeds United star has shown a lot of potential to be the next big thing in our team.
