Real Madrid’s preparation for the UEFA Super Cup final, their first match of the 2024-25 season, has not started well. During the squad’s final training session ahead of the showpiece event against Atalanta, Eduardo Camavinga injured his knee in a collision with club and international teammate, Aurelien Tchouameni.
COPE’s Miguel Angel Diaz has confirmed earlier reports that the injury is not serious, but it is enough to rule him out of playing in Warsaw. It’s also reported that Camavinga will undergo further medical tests on Thursday to determine a possible recovery date.

Losing Camavinga is a bitter blow for Carlo Ancelotti, although he will be encouraged by the news that it is not a serious injury for the Frenchman. It also makes his team selection slightly easier for Wednesday, with it now being almost certain that Tchouameni, Luka Modric and Federico Valverde or Jude Bellingham will line up in midfield for Real Madrid.
