'Really good...' - Four Lads Had a Dream issues verdict on John Fleck sealing Rangers transfer

Four Lads Had a Dream’s Stevie Clifford does not want to see Rangers re-signing John Fleck on a free transfer.

Daily Record reported on 28 July that 32-year-old has returned to train at Auchenhowie as he aims to find a new club this summer.

The Scotland international spent five years at Ibrox from 2007-2012 before he left for Coventry City.

Speaking on the Rangers Review show on 29 July, Clifford said on 10:04 : “Nice boy, really good lad, John. But his injuries are completely ravaged. Let’s not make the same mistakes that we made before. So no, John Flick, absolutely not.

“I need a lot of convincing to be on board with that one injury wise and things like that. I don’t think he gets ahead of Diomande which is the exact same position he plays so it’s a no from me.”

Rangers could certainly do with John Fleck’s experience and depth in midfield

Gers could benefit from Fleck’s experience and depth in midfield, despite concerns about his injury history.

As a former Rangers youth product, he knows the club well and has experience playing at a high level in England.

His familiarity with the team and the Scottish game could be valuable in a competitive season.

While his recent injury record raises concerns, having the Scotland international as an additional option in midfield, especially on a free transfer with potentially low wages, could be a low-risk, high-reward move.

His presence could provide much-needed depth and competition in the squad, helping to push other players to perform better.

Additionally, his experience could be beneficial in the dressing room, providing leadership and guidance to younger players.

In other Rangers news, a £3million development has emerged as Gers want to secure the services of Lawrence Shankland.
