Report: Celtic now in advanced talks to sign player Chris Sutton called 'outstanding'

Celtic are looking to add to their squad before the window shuts and are now edging closer to adding a long-standing target to the mix.

The Bhoys started the new season in typical dominant fashion by hammering Kilmarnock 4-0 but they want to keep adding to the squad and improve further.

Brendan Rodgers has made no secret of his desire to keep the improvements coming.

And now, it looks like Celtic could be about to get their hands on a striker they’ve wanted to bring in all summer.

Celtic in advanced talks to sign Adam Idah

According to Sky Sports journalist Adam Joseph, Celtic are close to getting a deal done to sign Idah on a permanent deal.

Writing on the live blog for Sky, Joseph added the following update:

“Celtic and Norwich City are now in advanced talks for striker Adam Idah. It’s understood negotiations are centred around a fee in excess of £6m, plus add-ons.

“Talks are ongoing but there is now a willingness from all parties to conclude a deal.

“Idah is believed to be keen on a return to Celtic, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.”

Idah was a hit on loan at Celtic last season as he scored seven times in just ten games in the SPFL.

Celtic to win the title with Idah up front?

Rangers know they have their work cut out anyway in terms of usurping Celtic but the addition of Adam Idah only improves the Hoops.

This signing will feel massive for Rodgers and Celtic and it gives them that focal point up top that can and probably will drive them to another title win.

Idah excelled in his loan spell and it’s a good example of a player using the loan windows to their advantage and earning a big move.

Lauded last season for being ‘outstanding’ for Celtic by Chris Sutton, Idah will very much hope to continue his form and hit the ground running.
