Report: Fabio Paratici tells Tottenham to sign Ligue 1 striker who they could land as a free agent

Fabio Paratici has been giving Tottenham Hotspur advice for the upcoming transfer window and has told them one player who they should target.

Paratici still has a big influence at Spurs despite being removed from his position as managing director following his ban from FIFA.

The 52-year-old did a stellar job in North London having signed players like Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Pedro Porro.

The Italian director was replaced by Johan Lange who has overseen the club’s transfer policy switching back to targeting talented youngsters.

However, Paratici is still a voice that plays a role at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he continues to give the Premier League club advice on who to sign.

Paratici working to sign Jonathan David for Tottenham

Paratici wants to bring Lille striker Jonathan David to Spurs and see off strong competition from Inter Milan for the player, according to Inter Live.

The former Juventus director attempted to sign him in the summer, however, Tottenham opted to sign Dominic Solanke instead.

Paratici remains intent on bringing David to the white half of North London and believes he is a player who would fit Ange Postecoglou’s demands for a versatile attacker.

He is continuing to work on a deal to sign him as a free agent for next summer and his close relations with the forward’s agent could help him land his man.

How good has Jonathan David been this season?

David has enjoyed a strong start to the season with eight goals in 13 appearances in all competitions for Lille.

He netted the winning goal for Lille against Real Madrid as the French side defeated Carlo Ancelloti’s super team 1-0 at the Pierre Mauroy Stadium.

The 24-year-old’s five league goals mean that Lille are sat fifth in Ligue 1 after seven matches and in firm contention for the top three spots.
