Serie A giants Juventus are also taking a keen interest in Maksimovic ahead of the January transfer window.
The 17-year-old’s performances have alerted a number of top clubs across the continent as he’s already registered 12 goal involvements in 18 outings this term.
English clubs will have to wait until he turns 18 next June to sign him, so that could give Juve a chance to nip in this winter.
It’s understood Belgrade could demand as little as £4m for their prized asset.
Maksimovic likened to Lionel Messi
Talent scout expert Jacek Kulig has compared Maksimovic to football great Lionel Messi, as the pair are both creative left-footed playmakers.
If 2007-born has even half the career Messi’s had, Liverpool or Chelsea could be getting a future Premier League star for an absolute bargain.
