Newcastle United fans have urged Eddie Howe to start William Osula against Wimbledon due to the injury crisis the squad is suffering.
Alexander Isak missed out on Newcastle’s 1-1 draw against Man City last weekend due to a fractured toe, and will keep him out of action for Tuesday’s (1 October) EFL Cup fixture.
Howe confirmed during his press conference that Isak is likely to be unavailable until after the upcoming international break.
Callum Wilson has yet to feature this season due to a back injury, which has stretched Howe’s attacking options recently.
Anthony Gordon led the line against Man City, and he rewarded Howe for that decision by scoring the equaliser from the penalty spot.
However, the Toon Army are now pushing Howe to give Osula a chance to start from the first whistle in midweek.
The 21-year-old moved to St. James’ Park for £15million during the summer transfer window from Sheffield United.
Newcastle United fans want William Osula to play in midweek
The Denmark Under-21 international has had limited time since moving to Tyneside, having played just seven minutes in the Premier League this season.
However, the Magpies fans believe that now is the time to give him a chance to showcase what he’s capable of due to the injuries to more experienced strikers.
